Chad L. Taylor graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2007.
Mr. Taylor was selected as a West Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Star. He is also BV® Peer Review Rated™ by Martindale-Hubbell®.
Upon his admission to the West Virginia Bar, Mr. Taylor joined Simmerman Law Office in October of 2007, and his practice is focused in complex, high stakes litigation in the following areas of civil litigation: construction and design professional litigation, complex and traumatic injury defense litigation, nursing home abuse, wrongful death, wrongful termination, medical malpractice, products liability, and general commercial litigation.
In addition to being admitted to practice before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, Mr. Taylor is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern District of West Virginia, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Beyond trying several cases in and throughout North Central West Virginia, Mr. Taylor has argued multiple appellate issues before the West Virginia Supreme Court, also previously arguing before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia.
Mr. Taylor is a member of the Harrison County Bar Association, donates his time as a 4-H adult volunteer which includes serving as a counselor at a week-long 4-H youth camp each summer, and attends Faith-Way Baptist Church in Philippi, West Virginia. Mr. Taylor makes his home in Philippi, along with his wife and two children.
While a law student, Mr. Taylor served as a member of the Moot Court Board, and upon graduation, was selected as a national member of the Order of Barristers for exhibiting excellence in courtroom advocacy.
